Auctionitis build updates are a separate function to the category updates. The build updates will update the Auctionitis Software and/or the database. It is important to keep the build up to date to ensure Auctionitis continues to function correctly.
Log on using a computer administrator account.
Windows provides different security levels for user accounts. To
install programs, you have to log on with an Administrator user
account. An administrator can perform any action on a computer. For more
information about user accounts, read Set up user accounts and log on to your computer.
Go to the File >Options >Processing menu and there you can
opt in/out of checking for program updates upon starting Auctionitis. 
If you turn off the prompter you can check for
updates manually via the Utilities>Check for Program Updates Menu. 
What does it do? Auctionitis will check the Auctionitis web site to see if there is a
software update available. If an update is available, Auctionitis will
(if requested) download and install the software update, otherwise the
update can be deferred to a more convenient time.

If an update is available you have the ch oice to proceed with the
download and installation of the update or to do it later.
Click Yes to Check for Updates. If an update is available Auctionitis will download the update file from the website. 
Once the file has been downloaded you will be prompted to close Auctionitis if it is still running.
- Switch to the Auctionitis window and close the program
- Do not close the Updater at the same time
- Click OK to proceed with the update
The first installation screen will appear. Click Next to continue through the update process. 
Auctionitis updates MUST be installed in
c:/program
files/auctionitis. Although the screen shows 'install' this is a default option and the update is actually being installed - you will not lose your data or create a clean install by running the updater.
 Click next to continue installation of the update and finish to complete it.
Running the Auto Updater for the first time - The first
time this feature is used you may notice an additional update taking
place, even when the latest version is installed - this is because the
auto update software included with Auctionitis needs to synchronise
with the update files stored on the web site.
- If no update is
available click OK.
We recommend you check for updates on a regular basis and as a first port of call if you have any problems with Auctionitis interacting with Trade Me or Sella.
