Splinterware System Scheduler
Now that your auctions are all set up, you may want to automate when
they list so you dont need to be at your PC to run a process.
Auctionitis integrates with the Windows Scheduler, but we've since
found a far simpler free tool to automate scheduled tasks that runs
across all versions of Windows with ease.
System Scheduler by Splinterware
System Scheduler is an excellent tool to schedule unattended running of applications, batch files, scripts and much more.
For anyone used to using MS Windows own Task Scheduler, System
Scheduler is an ideal and easy to use replacement, with more
flexibility and features. System Scheduler runs totally independently
of the MS Windows Task Scheduler and has no dependencies on it.
Download System Scheduler Free Version
The free version is limited to 3 taskis in events at any one time,
however by writing a batch file (a simple text file) we can add many
tasks into the one event.
System Scheduler FAQ
What Auctionitis Commands or Tasks can be automated with System Scheduler?
1. Action
The action to be run is
to start Auctionitis. The program/script to be run must be (including
the speech marks) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Auctionitis\Auctionitis.exe"
If Auctionitis is installed to another folder, the program must point to the auctionitis.exe file in that folder.
2. Add Parameters
This is where the specific command lines can be entered. These are:
-ACTION:LOAD To load all Pending Auctions not assigned to an auction cycle to Trade Me
-ACTION:LOAD -CYCLE:Monday To load all Pending Auctions assigned to auction cycle "Monday" to Trade Me
-ACTION:RELIST To re-list all eligible Auctions not assigned to an auction cycle
-ACTION:RELIST -CYCLE:Friday To re-list all Pending Auctions assigned to auction cycle "Friday"
-ACTION:PROCESSALL To load all pending auctions, update the database, make fixed price offers and re-list all eligible auctions
-ACTION:LOADPICS To load all new pictures to Trademe
-ACTION:UPDATEDB To update the Auction Database with Sold/Unsold data from Trade Me
-ACTION:SCHEDULE To process as per the options stored in the File >Options >Auctionitis Schedule
-ACTION:OFFER To update the database and make fixed price offers
-ACTION:LOADSELLA To load all Pending Auctions not assigned to an auction cycle to Sella
-ACTION:LOADSELLA -CYCLE:Weekly To load all Pending Auctions assigned to auction cycle "Weekly" to Sella
-ACTION:UPDATEDBSELLA
To update the Auction Database with Sold/Unsold data from Sella
The
Auction Cycle specified on the command line must match the Auction
Cycle in the database exactly including any capitals. If the Auction
Cycle is shown as Monday in the auction cycle screen, then the command
line must also specify MondaY.
Example: Setting up System Scheduler to Load all Listings to Sella
Start System Scheduler and select Action >New Event

Then the Event screen appears

- Event Type: Select Run Application
- Event is Enabled: Ticked
- Application: use the magnifying glass icon to navigate to c:\Program Files\Auctionitis\Auctionitis.exe or type it into the application field
- Parameters:
This is where the command is entered. Please note there is a SPACE
before -ACTION:LOADSELLA is entered. Enter the Command EXACTLY
including ensuring spaces, capital letters etc are exactly as specified
- Working Dir: Enter the directory that Auctionitis lives in. This will always be C:\Program Files\Auctionitis\
- State: Select Normal or see the System Scheduler FAQ for more information on the other states that tasks can be run in
Click Schedule. In the Schedule tab you choose when you want your
Event to run. There are a range of very flexible scheduling options and
triggers. Schedule times can range from Every Minute to Every Year, and
any combination you can think of in between.

Use the drop down box to select the scheduling option.

There are several different schedule type options
- Do Not Schedule
- Once
- Every Minute
- Every Hour/Selected Minutes
- Every Day/Week
- Every x Days
- Every Month
- Every Year
Here is a sample schedule

In the above schedule options we have chosen to run the task:
- Daily on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday but NOT Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday
- The task will run every four hours on those days - Midnight, 4am, 8am, Midday, 4pm and 8pm
- The task will run on the hour (eg at 4am not 4.15)
- Save the task and exit
There is a variety of options available under the Specific hours and Specific minutes tabs
System Scheduler Preferences
Below is one of the Preferences setting tabs that is available to
further configure System Scheduler to your requirements.
