The XML Manager
Auctionitis now provides a detailed XML Export/Import facility. XML is an “Extensible Markup Language” that improves the functionality of the Web and web related applications such as Auctionitis by letting you identify your information in a more accurate, flexible, and adaptable way.
The XML Manager is a simple and quick way to transfer or merge your auction data and photos (if required) between PC’s, between different TradeMe ID’s or when doing a complete back up and restore.
How does it work?
The XML Manager will export your Auctionitis Database and Photos into a Zip file. You can filter your auction listings by several options and choose whether or not you want to export the photos too. You then copy the XML/Zip file Auctionitis creates to the new PC or Identity and import it.
What other uses does the XML Manager have?
- Load auctions from multiple locations all at once and then merge the databases together
- Export the data to your website
- Interface with your in-house database or other applications
- Prepare auctions at work on one PC and take them home to load at night on another
- Hire a friend to load your auctions for you or load your friends prepared auctions for them!
- Create a complete zip file of photos and auction listings as a back up, to re-install quickly or copy onto another PC
The fields included in the XML file are not controlled via the options menu but instead have a standard layout.
