The easiest way ensure that category updates are performed as they are released is to ensure that the 'Perform Silent Category Update at Start Up' tickbox is selected in File> Options> Processing. This will avoid many auction loading problems.
How do I find my Current Category Service Date?
Start Auctionitis and click Help >About to locate your category service date.
When does the Silent Category Update Run?
This will happen automatically when Auctionitis starts up. You may
find a few second delay occurring while Auctionitis checks for category
updates on our website and processes any changes. In most instances you
won't even notice this.
If you are not connected to the internet, and start Auctionitis then
you will receive a message saying that no category check has been
performed as you are not connected to the internet.
What does it do?
The Category Update will:
- Connect to the Auctionitis website and check for category updates
- Download updates
- Process updates by adding new Trade Me categories, deleting old Trade Me categories and automatically convert your listings with old auction categories to
the most relevant new auction category
 
This means that you do not have
to manually update each individual auction each time Trade Me make a
category change nor will your auctions stop loading due to out of date categories.

Start Auctionitis >Utilities Menu >Check for Category Updates
Compare the Remote Service Date (the date Auctionitis last released
a category update) with the Local Service Date (the date of your last
category update).
If the Remote Service Date is more recent than the Local Service Date you need to update your category data.
Updating Categories Manually
Start Auctionitis >Utilities Menu >Update Categories
When the Update Categories option has been run and completes successfully a dialog box will appear.
What about Sella Category Updates?
When listings in Auctionitis have categories updated this will also automatically happen on all Sella listings in Auctionitis at the same time. Upon loading auctions to Sella via Auctionitis, listings will be converted to the nearest Sella category if required. |
