E-Mail Set Up

When setting up Tradar for the first time, we recommend putting in 'fake' smtp server information - this gives you time to get the standard e-mails customised and set up without the risk of any e-mails being sent to customers accidentally while you are learning Tradar.

 

However, the following information is based on entering correct information.

The following four fields are compulsory.

 

Reply-to E-Mail

This is the e-mail address that you would like customers to reply to when responding to e-mail sent from Tradar

SMTP Server

This is the name of the server that you will use to send mail.  In most instances this will be either the smtp server of your internet provider (eg, smtp.ihug.co.nz) or the smtp server of your website (eg, mail.mywebsite.co.nz)

 

If you use gmail or other web based e-mail, use the smtp server of your internet provider in Tradar to act as the server to send mail on your behalf.  Having the reply-to e-mail set up as your gmail (or other web based e-mail provider) e-mail address means all reply to e-mails from your customer will be directed to gmail

SMTP User Name

This is the user name you use to access the server.  If you are using the smtp server of your internet provider this will be your login/username that you signed up to them with.

 

If you are unsure of what this is please check your internet providers invoice or contact their support division

SMTP Password

This is the password you use to access the server.  If you are using the smtp server of your internet provider this will be your password that you signed up to them with.

Testing the e-mail Set Up

 

When the email data is configured click the test mail button - Tradar will commence testing the e-mail set up and will send a 'test' email to the address specified.  When the test e-mail has been successfully sent the screen will change to:

Check your e-mail  for an e-mail sent by Tradar that may look like this

There are three more boxes to be ticked in is section of the Master Account Set Up Details

Send Copies

Ticking this will result in copies of all the e-mails automatically sent from Tradar being sent to you as well

Import Data

Ticking this will enable Tradar to login to TradeMe and download sales data

Master Account

Only ONE account can be the Master Account - ensure this is ticked on the account that your Tradar licence is registered to
