A Standalone installation is the most common installation scenario. In a standalone configuration the PC is able to operate in both the server and client roles. To perform a Standalone installation, download and install the full installation package.
The Full Installation package will:
| • | Install the Tradar Server Application |
| • | Install the Tradar Client Application |
| • | Create the Tradar database in the local SQL Server instance |
| • | Populate the database with the base setup data |
| • | Perform other ad-hoc configuration tasks |
Save the Install File to your hard drive. Double Click the file to commence installation.
Click Next
Click Next
View the ReadMe and click Next
Select the destination directory and click Next
Select your preferred program shortcut options and click Next
Confirm setup settings and click NEXT to begin installation
You will be asked to select a directory to store product images. These are the images that you may wish to assign to products entered into Tradar. We recommend creating a subfolder /images in the directory where Tradar is installed.
Once the folder has been created or located click OK to continue installation
The name of the SQL server will be pre-filled by default. This will be the name of your PC and the name of the SQL server instance on your PC. This should not need changing unless you are running Windows Small Business Server or you are installing this as a client only install.
To check that this is correct, Start Sequel Server Management Studio Express (Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > SQL Server Management Studio Express) and the following screen will appear:
Click Connect
A successful connection will result in the above screen appearing. Close down SQL Server Management Studio Express and continue with Tradar Installation. The Tradar Installer will now install the necessary files to your PC.
Once completed, Tradar will require a restart of your PC. Click Finish to restart. Congratulations! You have successfully installed Tradar!!
